Pomegranates are sumptuous to eat and drink.Their crimson colour and sensuous shape have inspired design both ancient and modern times. According to tradition a pomegranate has 613 seeds to represent the 613 commandments in the Bible. The pomegranate, was regarded in ancient times as an emblem of fruitfulness - from the abundance of its seeds.
Barbara says " The pomegrantes that grow in Israel are the most crimson and luscious. Nothing is more delicious than to go to a corner stall and have a delicious freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. You feel each sip cleanses and invigorates you. I love hanging pomegranates in our Succah, it is such a regal fruit yet at the right season you see piles of the this scarlet fruits in markets and fruit shops.The pomegranate is one of my favourite fruits and I truely feel inspired by it"
